Writing in fixed Elementary Library classes

Am wondering if any El. SLMS have had success with writing about non-fiction in library.  I have been frustrated with the week long wait (at least) between hearing the book read aloud and then writing about it. We brainstorm a review of the text and put keywords up on a whiteboard, but this is Far from ideal!

I really do hope to GAIN more confidence, as well as information that sticks by participating in this online course.  I've multiple exposures to 2.0 pieces, but don't feel on top of lots of them. Probably stems from my love of paper and print, and things like newspapers and ye olde card catalogue....
